In addition, it provides an excellent base to explore Mid Wales and beyond. Take advantage of the many walks and cycle routes the countryside has to offer. Masegwyn Holiday Lets offers farmhouse, converted barns and glamping pod getaways which sleep 2-18 with private hot tubs overlooking the Welsh countryside. It is run by James and Lin and their family on their traditional Welsh hill farm at the foot of the Beacon Hill. The accommodation consists of a farmhouse and two converted barns that have been maintained and converted to a high standard. The properties sit close to the villages of Felindre, Beguildy and Llanbister, as well the River Teme, which winds across the Welsh/English border.
Our central location is ideal for friends and family gatherings, for reunions, special occasions or annual catch-ups or a break away from the city. Just 2 hours from Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester and four hours from London we are easy to reach from all over the country. Our central location also acts as an excellent base for exploring Mid Wales and further afield.
Maesgwyn farm is surrounded by beautiful, rolling countryside which is waiting to be explored. You can enjoy lovely walks from the doorstep around the farm, to Beguildy or along Glyndwr's Way or the nearby Kerry Ridgeway or Jack Mytton Way. An abundance of trails and cycle routes at Offa's Dyke provides fantastic views, and red kites can often be spotted. We also have a small fishing pool containing brown trout which you are welcome to fish but please return the fish to the water (after of course taking your celebratory photo!). No fishing equipment supplied. During your stay there is also the option of having a range of food deliveries ready and waiting for your arrival or delivered for that special occasion from local companies or have the ultimate relaxing time courtesy of beauticians who can come to the accommodation. These services require booking in advance and are subject to availability.
The farmhouse which sleeps 10 boasts five spacious bedrooms, one en-suite, a generous family bathroom with roll-top bath, downstairs shower room and downstairs WC, providing spacious accommodation for the group. The barns offer a smaller alternative both with two bedrooms which sleep 4 or booked together sleep 8. Our new glamping pods sleep 2 adults only . For a very special occasion, book all four properties together to sleep a total of 22. One barn is also suitable for wheelchair users.
James and Llewelyn will be happy to talk endlessly to you about the farm. Many guests enjoy watching the dogs and bikes work the sheep on the opposite hills, with a glass of wine in hand. Our sheep lamb outdoors, so if you are visiting during March and April you may also get the opportunity to see lambs being born in the neighbouring fields. James would be happy to answer any questions you have about the farm.
